DISPLACEMENT STRUCTURE FOR VEHICLE BRAKE PEDAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a displacement structure for a vehicle brake pedal, which is able to prevent a steering column from being pushed rearward by a large load even when the brake pedal moves backward and also able to prevent a problem in that the inflating position of an air bag is displaced from a set position or the direction in which the steering column is shortened in the event of collision from front is displaced.SOLUTION: In a case where a brake pedal is attached to the PP member of the front part of a vehicle cabin so as to be situated near a steering column 6 as viewed from the forward and backward directions of the vehicle, the brake pedal includes: a pedal arm 12a attached to the PP member; and a pedal member 12b provided at the lower end part of the pedal arm. The rear end part of the pedal arm is covered by a guide plate 14 from behind the vehicle. The guide plate has an inclination face 14b inclining backward away from the steering column from the front toward the rear of the vehicle, as viewed from above the vehicle. When the brake pedal moves backward in the event of collision of the vehicle from front, the inclining face comes into contact with the steering column. 【課題】ブレーキペダルが後方移動した場合でもステアリングコラムを大荷重で後方に押すのを回避でき、エアバッグの展開位置が設定位置からずれたり、ステアリングコラムの前突時の収縮方向にずれが生じる問題を回避できる自動車用ブレーキペダルの変位構造を提供する。【解決手段】車室前部のＰＰメンバにブレーキペダルが車両前後方向視でステアリングコラム６の近傍に位置するように取り付けられている場合に、ブレーキペダルは、ＰＰメンバに取り付けられたペダルアーム１２ａと、ペダルアームの下端部に設けられたペダル部材１２ｂとを含み、ペダルアームの後縁部はガイドプレート１４により車両後方から覆われており、ガイドプレートは、車両上面視で、車両前方から後方にかけてステアリングコラムから離れる方向に傾斜する傾斜面１４ｂを有し、ブレーキペダルが車両前突により後方移動したとき、傾斜面がステアリングコラムに当接する。【選択図】図２
