Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detecting device and a detecting method, capable of adjusting the position of a tip of a pipet in advance and highly accurately detecting the presence or amount of substances to be detected.SOLUTION: A detecting device comprises a pipet, a pipet moving unit, an electric characteristic measuring unit, a light irradiating unit, a light detecting unit, and a processing unit. The pipet supplies a liquid to a housing unit or recovers it from the housing unit and at least whose tip has conductivity. The electric characteristic measuring unit measures the electric characteristics between a metal film and the tip of the pipet. The light detecting unit detects the amount of fluorescence emitted from the neighborhood of a surface on the housing unit side of the metal film or the amount of light reflected by the metal film when the light irradiating unit irradiates the metal film with light. The processing unit determines the position of the tip of the pipet with respect to the metal film on the basis of the measurement results of the electric characteristic measuring unit. 【課題】ピペットの先端部の位置を事前に調整し、被検出物質の存在または量を高い精度で検出することができる、検出装置および検出方法を提供すること。【解決手段】検出装置は、ピペット、ピペット移動部、電気的特性測定部、光照射部、光検出部および処理部を有する。ピペットは、少なくともその先端部が導電性を有し、収容部に液体を提供するか、または収容部から液体を回収する。電気的特性測定部は、金属膜およびピペットの先端部の間の電気的特性を測定する。光検出部は、光照射部が金属膜に光を照射したときに、金属膜の収容部側の面の近傍から放出される蛍光の光量、または金属膜で反射された光の光量を検出する。処理部は、電気的特性測定部の測定結果に基づいて金属膜に対するピペットの先端部の位置を判断する。【選択図】図1
