PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor that is able to prevent a lubricant dripping from a forward-side guide rail from adhering to a footstep and that enables a footstep stain prevention device to be installed on an existing passenger conveyor without using an existing guide rail and guide rail fixing part.SOLUTION: In an escalator according to the present invention, a frame body 1 has a plurality of cross-beams 15 having an inclination part 1C and arranged along the longitudinal direction of the frame body 1. A footstep stain prevention device for preventing adhesion of lubricant to a footstep 5 is arranged in an empty space part F formed between the cross-beams 15, a return-side footstep 5b, and a rear wheel 21 attached to the return-side footstep 5b, and provided over the entire area of the inclination part 1C. The footstep stain prevention device includes a drain oil plate composed of a plurality of separate plates 22 by which lubricant dripping from the forward-side guide rail 17 is dripped outside a return-side footstep 5b. 【課題】往路側案内レールより滴下する潤滑油が踏段に付着することを防止でき、かつ、既存の乗客コンベアに踏段汚損防止装置を設置するに際し、既存の案内レール及び案内レール固定部を利用せずに設置することができる乗客コンベアの提供。【解決手段】本発明に係るエスカレータは、枠体１が、傾斜部１Ｃを有し、当該枠体１の長手方向に沿って複数配置された横桁１５を有し、踏段５への潤滑油の付着を防止する踏段汚損防止装置が、横桁１５と、帰路側の踏段５ｂと、この帰路側の踏段５ｂに取り付けられた後輪２１との間に形成される隙間部Ｆに配置されて傾斜部１Ｃの全域にわたって設けられ、往路側案内レール１７から滴下する潤滑油を帰路側の踏段５ｂの外側に滴下させる複数の分割板２２から成る排油板を含む構成にしてある。【選択図】図３
