Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source which is appropriate for emitting a light to a light guide plate or the like and which is thin, has rigidity and also improves a heat dissipation property, a backlight device and a display device.SOLUTION: On one side face of a ceramic substrate 31 that is formed by laminating a plurality of ceramic layers 31a-31f, a groove 32 is formed while extending in a long-side direction. In the groove 32 of the ceramic substrate 31, a light-emitting element 4 is packaged while being encapsulated by an encapsulation material. A light-emitting part formed from the light-emitting element 4 and the encapsulation material includes a light emission plane that is substantially orthogonal to a lamination plane in the ceramic substrate 31, and a width of the light emission plane is equal to or less than thickness of the ceramic substrate 31. The light-emitting element is not provided on a top face of the ceramic substrate but the light-emitting element 4 is packaged in the groove 32 on the one side face of the ceramic substrate 31, such that a light source 3 can be made thin.
【課題】導光板などに光を出射するのに好適であり、薄型で剛性があり放熱性も良い光源、バックライト装置及び表示装置を提供する。【解決手段】複数のセラミック層31a〜31fを積層してなるセラミック基板31の一側面には、長辺方向に延在して溝部32が形成されている。セラミック基板31の溝部32には、封止材にて封止されて発光素子4が搭載されている。発光素子4及び封止材にて構成される発光部は、セラミック基板31における積層面に対して略直交している光出射面を有しており、光出射面の幅がセラミック基板31の厚さ以下である。セラミック基板の上面に発光素子を設けるのではなく、セラミック基板31の一側面の溝部32に発光素子4を搭載するように構成したため、光源3の薄型化を図れる。【選択図】図3 |
