PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a reduction in throughput and enable imaging of a recording medium in a device that controls acceleration and deceleration of a recording medium.SOLUTION: There is provided an image forming apparatus that includes an image forming part that forms an image on a recording medium, an LED 41 that irradiates the recording medium with light, a line sensor 43 that is irradiated by the LED 41 and photographs the light transmitted through the recording medium as an image, and a control part 10 that controls image formation conditions for the image forming part, and further includes a conveyance roller 5 that conveys the recording medium.
