Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing an organic compound by improving a production rate, particularly under a condition where the organic compound is accumulated in high concentration, when producing the organic compound using microorganisms.SOLUTION: A method for producing an organic compound comprises a step of producing the organic compound by acting the microorganisms with organic compound productivity or a processed product thereof on a saccharide-containing raw material under presence of hydroxyacetone in an aqueous medium (henceforth a "fermentation process"). The saccharide-containing raw material is preferred to be a raw material which contains hydroxyacetone. 【課題】微生物を用いて有機化合物を生産する際、特に、当該有機化合物が高濃度に蓄積した条件下において生産速度を向上させ、有機化合物を効率よく製造する方法を提供すること。【解決手段】有機化合物生産能を有する微生物またはその処理物を、水性媒体中、ヒドロキシアセトンの存在下で、糖類含有原料に作用させることにより有機化合物を生産させる工程（以下、「発酵工程」という）を有することを特徴とする、有機化合物の製造方法。前記糖類含有原料が、ヒドロキシアセトンを含有する原料であることが好ましい。【選択図】図１
