SLIDE FASTENER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slide fastener having fastener element rows that can be both dyed and matted and can reduce manufacturing costs for the slide fastener and provide a method of manufacturing the slide fastener.SOLUTION: A slide fastener includes: a pair of fastener tapes 20; a pair of fastener element rows 30 each provided to each of opposed tape side edges 20a of the pair of fastener tapes 20 and having a plurality of fastener elements 31; and a slider 40 for engaging and disengaging the pair of fastener element rows 30 with and from each other. The fastener element rows 30 are composed of a synthetic resin monofilament, each of which has a surface layer that can be colored with a dye on the surface. The surface of the surface layer is roughened to have a large number of recesses.
