Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce toner aggregates in a liquid developer that is removed from a developing member and returned to a reservoir unit.SOLUTION: A residual liquid developer GC removed and recovered by a removing device 140 passes through a contact part T between a first roll 210 and a second roll 220 of a shear force imparting device 200 and returns to a reservoir tank 152 of a reservoir unit 150. A peripheral velocity V1 of the first roll 210 is controlled to be lower than a peripheral velocity V2 of the second roll 220 to produce a peripheral velocity difference V3 (=V2-V1) between the first roll 210 and the second roll 220 at the contact part T. Thereby, when the residual liquid developer GC passes through the contact part T, shear force is imparted to toner aggregates to grind the toner aggregates. Thus, toner aggregates are eliminated or reduced. 【課題】現像部材から除去され貯留部に戻される液体現像剤中のトナー凝集物を減少させる。【解決手段】除去装置140によって除去され回収された残留液体現像剤GCは、せん断力付与装置200の第一ロール210と第二ロール220との接触部Tを通過してから貯留部150の貯留槽152に戻される。第一ロール210の周速V1は、第二ロール220の周速V2よりも遅くなるように制御されており、接触部Tにおける第一ロール210と第二ロール220とに周速差V3(=V2−V1)が生じるようになっている。よって、接触部Tを残留液体現像剤GCが通過する際に、トナー凝集物にせん断力が付与され、トナー凝集物が磨り潰される。よって、トナー凝集物が解消又は減少する。【選択図】図1
