Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting method by a single wire type wire saw and a single wire type wire saw which can eliminate mechanical elements for supporting a pair of grooved guide rollers on the extension of a processing feed direction of a workpiece, and increase the length of the cuttable workpiece.SOLUTION: A single wire type wire saw 1 rotatably supports a pair of support arms 8 connected respectively to roller shafts 5 of a pair of grooved guide rollers 2 for stretching a wire 3, and comprises a movable operation shaft 9. In the process of processing and feeding a workpiece 4 relatively to the wire 3 and cutting the workpiece 4 by the running of the wire 3, in the middle of the cutting of the workpiece 4 and at the time of changing a processing feed direction, the operation shaft 9 is moved along an arc whose center is the central axis of the wire 3 in a cutting area. At the same time, the support arms 8 are rotated around the operation shaft 9, and a wire support direction of the pair of grooved guide rollers 2 is made to face the processing feed direction. 【課題】ワークの加工送り方向の延長上において、一対の溝付き案内ローラ支持用の機械要素を無くし、切断可能なワークの長さを大きくできるようにするシングルワイヤ式のワイヤソーによる切断方法、及びシングルワイヤ式のワイヤソーを提供する。【解決手段】ワイヤ3を張架する一対の溝付き案内ローラ2の各ローラ軸5にそれぞれ連結される一対の支持アーム8を回動自在に支持する、移動可能な操作軸9を具備したシングルワイヤ式のワイヤソー1において、該ワイヤ3に対してワーク4を相対的に加工送りし、ワーク4をワイヤ3の走行によって切断する過程で、ワーク4の切断中で、加工送り方向の変化時に、切断域のワイヤ3の中心軸を中心とする円弧に沿って操作軸9を移動させると同時に、操作軸9を中心として支持アーム8を回動させ、一対の溝付き案内ローラ2のワイヤ支持方向を加工送り方向に対向させる。【選択図】図1
