PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device which can surely prevent a sub weight from falling, which is inexpensive, which has high reliability, which is excellent in safety, and which is free from any space problems.SOLUTION: An elevator device comprising an elevator car and a counterweight which are provided in a hoistway, which are connected with each other by a rope, and which are lifted/lowered mutually, includes: a sub weight loading part which can load at least one sub weight for changing the weight of the counterweight; and a sub weight holding unit for supplying the sub weight onto the sub weight loading part. A fall-off prevention part which prevents the sub weight from falling is provided on at least either of the sub weight loading part and the sub weight holding unit. 【課題】サブウエイトの落下を確実に防止でき、低コストで信頼性が高く、安全性に優れ、スペース的にも問題の無いエレベータ装置を提供する。【解決手段】昇降路内に設けられ、互いにロープで接続された乗りかご及びカウンタウエイトを相互に昇降させるエレバータ装置で、カウンタウエイトの重量を可変するためのサブウエイトを少なくとも1個搭載可能なサブウエイト搭載部と、このサブウエイト搭載部上に移動して、保持機構による保持を解除することで、このサブウエイトを前記サブウエイト搭載部上に供給するサブウエイト保持ユニットとを備え、これらサブウエイト搭載部とサブウエイト保持ユニットの少なくとも一方にサブウエイトの脱落防止部を設けた。【選択図】図４
