Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve timing variable mechanism of an internal combustion engine which can suppress the release of the engagement of a second piston and an end part in a state that an engagement object of the end part of a spring is switched to the second pin from a first pin.SOLUTION: When a rotor relatively moves to a housing 4 in a direction separating from an intermediate lock position to a retardant side, an engagement object of an end part 28b of a spring 28 is switched to a second pin 30 from a first pin 29. Even if the end part 28b tries to move to a direction in which engagement with the second pin 30 is released, that is, a vertical direction of (b) in a state that the engagement object of the end part 28b is switched to the second pin 30, the movement of the end part is regulated by a front bush 27. This regulation results from the fact that the front bush 27 is formed so as to extend up to a position corresponding to the second pin 30 described as above when the end part 28b is engaged with the second pin 30, and the rotor relatively moves to the housing 4 to the most retardant side.
