PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound generator can be made compact and lightweight and output excellent sound.SOLUTION: A sound generator comprises: a piezoelectric vibration part 60 which has a housing 20 and a piezoelectric element 61, and can be selectively shifted between a first state that at least part projects from the housing 20 and a second state that at least part does not project from the housing 20; and a weight which applies a load to the piezoelectric vibration part 60. When the piezoelectric element 61 is driven in response to the sound signal in the first state and in a state where the load is applied from the weight 10 to the piezoelectric vibration part 60, the piezoelectric vibration part 60 is deformed and the deformation causes a placing surface 150 coming into contact with the piezoelectric vibration part 60, to vibrate and emit sounds from the placing surface 150. 【課題】小型軽量化が可能で、良好な音を発生可能な音発生器を提供する。【解決手段】筐体２０と、圧電素子６１を備え、少なくとも一部が筺体２０から突出した第１の状態と突出しない第２の状態とに選択的に遷移可能な圧電振動部６０と、圧電振動部６０に荷重を与える錘１０と、を備え、圧電素子６１は、圧電振動部６０が第１の状態にあるときに、圧電振動部６０に錘１０からの荷重が与えられた状態で、圧電素子６１が音信号に応じて駆動されると、圧電振動部６０が変形して圧電振動部６０が接する接触面１５０を振動させて接触面１５０から音を発生させる。【選択図】図５
