Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform high-quality image display even when a large-screen, high-definition plasma display panel is applied as an electronic blackboard.SOLUTION: One field period is configured of a plurality of sub fields including image display sub fields SF1 to SF 8 that apply a maintenance pulse to scanning electrodes and maintenance electrodes and subsequently apply an upward slope voltage increasing to a first voltage Vr to the scanning electrodes, a y-coordinate detection sub field SFy that sequentially applies a y-coordinate detection pulse to the scanning electrodes, and an x-coordinate detection sub field SFx that sequentially applies an x-coordinate detection pulse to data electrodes. An erasing period is provided for arranging the y-coordinate detection sub field or the x-coordinate detection sub field at the end of one field period, applying an upward slope voltage increasing to a second voltage Vi2 higher than the first voltage Vr at the end of the sub field arranged lastly, and then applying a downward slope voltage decreasing to a negative voltage Vi4 to the scanning electrodes.
