Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manipulating an internal combustion engine when a failure occurs to a generator power supply grid.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine (2) includes a turbocharger 4 that includes a compressor 5 within an air supply duct 6 of the internal combustion engine (2); and an exhaust gas turbine 7 coupled to the compressor 5 within the exhaust gas duct 8. At least one bypass valve 9, 10 is used for bypassing the compressor 5 and/or bypassing the exhaust gas turbine 7, and at least one bypass valve 9, 10 is actuated at least temporarily at or after detection of a grid failure.
