Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for producing alkylene oxide, the service life of which can be improved.SOLUTION: A catalyst for producing alkylene oxide contains a carrier and a catalyst component to be deposited on the carrier. The carrier contains α-alumina as a main component and has: the external surface coated with amorphous silica; and pores each having the surface coated with the amorphous silica. The coating amount of the amorphous silica (in terms of Si) is 2×10to 2×10g-Si/g-carrier and pores each having 50 μm or larger pore diameter account for 15-40% of the total pore volume. 【課題】触媒寿命を向上できるアルキレンオキシド製造用触媒を提供する。【解決手段】担体と、前記担体に担持されてなる触媒成分と、を含む、アルキレンオキシド製造用触媒であって、前記担体は、α−アルミナを主成分として含み、外表面および細孔表面が非晶質シリカで被覆され、当該非晶質シリカの被覆量(Si換算)は、1g担体当たり、2?10−4〜2?10−2g−Si/g担体であり、かつ細孔直径が50μm以上の細孔を全細孔容積の15〜40%の割合で有する、触媒。【選択図】なし
