METHOD FOR PRODUCING AQUEOUS PIGMENT COMPOSITION, AND INK FOR PRINTING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aqueous pigment composition which does not cause a solvent shock and is excellent in storage stability.SOLUTION: The method for producing an aqueous pigment composition containing a pigment, a water-soluble solvent and/or water, a dispersion resin, and a binder resin includes, in the following order: a step 1 of dispersing the pigment in the water-soluble solvent and/or water with the dispersion resin to obtain a pigment dispersion; a step 2 of adding an aqueous surfactant solution to the pigment dispersion obtained in the step 1; a step 3 of subsequently adding the binder resin thereto; and a step 4 of performing ultrasonic treatment. The concentration of the aqueous surfactant solution in the step 2 is less than 13.5 wt.%.
