Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent or alleviate a spatter reach to a condenser lens by an assist gas, when a spatter infiltrates from an irradiation port provided in a processing head body.SOLUTION: In a laser processing head which irradiates a work piece with a laser beam 4 condensed by a condenser lens 2 installed in an upper part of a processing head body 1, as well as with an assist gas from an irradiation port 3 provided in a lower part, a side face of the processing head body 1 is provided with an assist gas jet member 5 between the condenser lens 2 and the irradiation port 3. The assist gas jet member 5 jets the assist gas in a direction which traverses the optical axis 4a of the laser beam 4 and is inclined to the downstream side in the irradiation direction. A jet port 6 is formed at a tip of the assist gas jet member 5, and an opening area of the jet port 6 is smaller than that of the irradiation port 3. 【課題】加工ヘッド本体に設けた照射口からスパッタが浸入した場合、アシストガスによってスパッタが集光レンズまで到達するのを防止し又は軽減する。【解決手段】加工ヘッド本体1の上部に設けた集光レンズ2によって集光したレーザ光4をアシストガスと共に下部に設けた照射口3から被加工材に向けて照射するレーザ加工ヘッドであって、加工ヘッド本体1の側面には集光レンズ2と照射口3との間にアシストガス噴射部材5が設けられ、該アシストガス噴射部材5は、アシストガスをレーザ光4の光軸4aを横断し且つ照射方向下流側に傾斜させた方向に噴射させる。アシストガス噴射部材5の先端に噴射口6が形成されており、噴射口6の開口面積は照射口3の開口面積よりも小さい。【選択図】 図1
