Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of providing a novel desulfurizing agent having high mechanical strength which can subject a hydrocarbon raw material to desulfurization treatment to a high degree stably for a long period.SOLUTION: A method of producing a desulfurizing agent comprises the steps of: mixing a mixture containing a copper compound, a zinc compound, and an aluminum compound with an aqueous solution of an alkaline substance to produce a precipitation; thereafter calcining the obtained precipitation to obtain a formed product of a mixture of copper oxide, zinc oxide, and aluminum oxide; thereafter impregnating the formed product with an impregnating liquid containing by a target amount at least one metal selected from the group consisting of iron and nickel; and further calcining the formed product impregnated with the impregnating liquid, where the impregnating liquid is divided into a plurality of portions, and impregnation is executed a plurality of times to impregnate the formed product. 【課題】機械的強度が高く、かつ、炭化水素原料を長期間安定して高度に脱硫処理しうる新たな脱硫剤を提供することができる技術を提供する。【解決手段】銅化合物、亜鉛化合物およびアルミニウム化合物を含む混合物とアルカリ物質の水溶液とを混合して沈殿を生じさせ、得られた沈殿を焼成し、酸化銅−酸化亜鉛−酸化アルミニウム混合物の成形物を得た後、この成形物に鉄およびニッケルから選ばれる少なくとも一種以上を目標量含有する含浸液を含浸させる含浸工程を行い、さらに含浸液を含浸させた成形物を焼成する焼成工程をおこなう場合に、含浸液を複数に分け、含浸工程を複数回行って成形物に含浸させる。【選択図】なし
