Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-layered coating film which has a collar pearl coating color as a coating material for an automobile body, a week bluish interference color in a highlight part, and a weak yellow transparent color in a shade part, and keeps a color development with a color base coating film visible omnidirectionally.SOLUTION: A method for forming a multi-layered coating film, which includes the steps of: forming a color base coating film by coating a base material with a color base coating material containing a coloring pigment; forming a brilliant coating film by coating an obtained color base coating film with a brilliant coating material containing a coherent brilliant coating material and a titanium dioxide pigment; and forming a clear coating film by coating an obtained brilliant coating film with a clear coating material, makes volume cumulative particle diameters D90 and D50 of the titanium dioxide pigment that the brilliant coating film contains be in a predetermined range and restricts a mass ratio of the coherent brilliant pigment to the titanium dioxide pigment in a coating material solid of the coherent brilliant coating material. 【課題】自動車車体用塗料としてのカラーパール塗色であり、ハイライト部では青味干渉色が弱く、シェード部で黄色の透過色が弱く、全方位でカラーベース塗膜によるカラー発色が見えるカラーパール調塗色の複層塗膜の提供。【解決手段】基材上に着色顔料を含んだカラーベース塗料を塗布してカラーベース塗膜を形成する工程、得られたカラーベース塗膜上に干渉性光輝性顔料及び二酸化チタン顔料を含んだ光輝性塗料を塗布して光輝性塗膜を形成する工程、得られた光輝性塗膜上にクリヤー塗料を塗布してクリヤー塗膜を形成する工程を含む複層塗膜の形成方法であって、該光輝性塗膜が含有する二酸化チタン顔料の体積累積粒子径D90とD50を所定範囲にし、かつ、前記光輝性塗料の塗料固形分中の該干渉性光輝性顔料と該二酸化チタン顔料との質量比も制限する複層塗膜の形成方法。該複層塗膜の形成方法により形成された複層塗膜。【選択図】なし
