PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information acquisition system of an insurance policy capable of safely and quickly acquiring the description information of an insurance policy owned by a customer.SOLUTION: In an information acquisition system of an insurance policy having a portable terminal and a server capable of transmitting/receiving data with the portable terminal, the portable terminal includes: photographing means capable of photographing a target insurance policy; and transmission means capable of transmitting image data obtained by photographing the insurance policy by the photographing means to the server, and the server includes: first character identification processing means for performing character identification processing on image data existing in a whole region in the outer frame of a screen among the image data received from the portable terminal; second character identification processing means for performing character identification processing on the image data existing in a region between the outer frame and inner frame of the screen among the received image data; and determination processing means for determining that photography by the portable terminal has been correctly performed when the number of characters identified by the first character identification processing means is equal to or more than a first threshold, and the number of characters identified by the second character identification processing means is equal to or less than a second threshold smaller than the first threshold. 【課題】顧客の所有する保険証券の記載情報を安全にかつ迅速に取得することができる保険証券の情報取得システムを提供する。【解決手段】携帯端末と、携帯端末との間でデータの送受信が可能なサーバとを有する保険証券の情報取得システムであって、携帯端末は、対象となる保険証券を撮影可能な撮影手段と、撮影手段が撮影して得た画像データをサーバへ送信可能な送信手段とを備えており、サーバは、携帯端末から受信した画像データの画面の外枠内全体の領域に存在する画像データについて文字識別処理を行う第１の文字識別処理手段と、受信した画像データのうちの画面の外枠と内枠との間の領域に存在する画像データについて文字識別処理を行う第２の文字識別処理手段と、第１の文字識別処理手段が識別した文字数が第１の閾値以上であり、かつ第２の文字識別処理手段が識別した文字数が第１の閾値より小さい第２の閾値以下である場合に携帯端末による撮影が正しく行われたと判断する判断処理手段とを備えている。【選択図】図１
