PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new benzofuran derivative having excellent medical action, such as a neuroprotective effect, a neurogenetic (regeneration) promoting effect, a cognitive function improvement effect and having lower toxicity and high central transportation.SOLUTION: A compound and its salt are represented by a formula (I), where a ring A is a piperazine ring, a morpholine ring or a homo piperazine ring; Rand Rare H or lower alkyl; Rand Rare H or lower alkyl; and Rto Rare hydroxy, lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, lower alkoxy, cycloalkyl, aryl, a heteroaromatic ring, amino or acyl. 【課題】優れた神経保護作用、神経新生(再生)促進作用、認知機能改善作用等の医薬作用を有し、さらに毒性が低く、中枢移行性が高い、新規なベンゾフラン誘導体の提供。【解決手段】式（Ｉ）で表される化合物、又はその塩。［環Ａはピペラジン環；モルホリン環又はホモピペラジン環；Ｒ１及びＲ2はＨ又は低級アルキル；Ｒ3及びＲ4はＨ又は低級アルキル；Ｒ5〜Ｒ７はヒドロキシ、低級アルキル、低級アルケニル、低級アルコキシ、シクロアルキル、アリール、芳香族複素環、アミノ、又はアシル］【選択図】なし
