PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for manufacturing a deluxe edition and so on which can easily correspond to a request for bookbinding of a variable booklet.SOLUTION: A device for manufacturing a deluxe edition 1 equipped with a back binding part for supplying materials 10 onto the back of a text 3, in which longitudinal sides of the materials 10 have a prescribed length irrespective of a shape of the deluxe edition 1, and the back binding part is equipped with material supply means 30 which cuts a width directional side of a gauze-like fabric 7 as one of the materials 10 according to a thickness of the text 3 and supplies the same to a central part of the back of the text 3, and further, cuts a width directional side of a paper body 8 as one of the materials 10 according to a thickness of the text 3 and supplies the same to both side end parts of the back of the text 3. 【課題】容易にバリアブル冊子の製本要求に対応可能な上製本の製造装置等を提供する。【解決手段】本文３の背に資材１０を供給する背固め処理部を備えた上製本１の製造装置において、資材１０の縦方向の辺は、上製本１の形状にかかわらず予め規定された長さを有し、背固め処理部は、資材１０の１つとしてのガーゼ状織物７の幅方向の辺を本文３の厚みに応じて切断して本文３の背の中央部に供給するとともに、資材１０の１つとしての紙体８の幅方向の辺を本文３の厚みに応じて切断して本文３の背の両側端部に供給する資材供給手段３０を備えている。【選択図】図３
