Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly know the flow of a fluid by simple means.SOLUTION: A flow rate detection device 1 comprises: a light projection unit 2 that projects light to a pilot 92 included in a water supply meter 90 for measuring a flow rate of water in response to an amount of fluctuation of the pilot 92 that accepts water flow to fluctuate; and a semi-transparent plate 4 that projects reflected light generated when projected light by the light projection unit 2 is reflected by the pilot 92. As means to solve the problem, the flow rate detection device 1 and a flow rate detection method achieved by the flow rate detection device 1 or the like are provided. 【課題】簡易な手段により流体の流れを正確に把握する。【解決手段】上記課題を解決するための手段として、水の流れを受けて変動するパイロット９２の変動量に応じて水の流量を計測する水道メーター９０に含まれた上記パイロット９２に光を当てる投光部２と、投光部２により投光された光がパイロット９２で反射することにより生じる反射光を投映する半透明板４とを備えた流量検出装置１及び流量検出装置１等により実現される流量検出方法を提供する。【選択図】図１
