VOLTAGE-CONTROLLED OSCILLATOR AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage-controlled oscillator that solves the problem in which a stable oscillation power cannot be maintained because of abnormal oscillation or quenching due to temperature change.SOLUTION: The voltage-controlled oscillator includes: an oscillator including a variable capacitance element, a resonance element and an amplification element; a detector for detecting part of a fundamental output from the oscillator and outputting a detected value as a monitored value; and a negative resistance regulator for regulating a negative resistance of the amplification element. The negative resistance regulator regulates the negative resistance such that the monitored value becomes equal to a reference monitored value that is a monitored value during stable operation of the oscillator. 【課題】温度変化による異常発振や発振停止によって安定した発振パワーを持続することができない、という課題を解決する電圧制御発振器を提供する。【解決手段】本発明の電圧制御発振器は、容量可変素子と共振素子と増幅素子とを含む発振器と、発振器が出力する基本波の一部を検波し、検波した値を監視値として出力する検波器と、増幅素子の負性抵抗を調整する負性抵抗調整器とを含み、負性抵抗調整器は、監視値が発振器の安定動作時における監視値である基準監視値と等しくなるように、負性抵抗を調整する。【選択図】 図１
