PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive device capable of improving positioning accuracy by setting a frequency of a switching circuit high.SOLUTION: A motor drive device 10 comprises a power source 20 and a switching circuit 40 for controlling a current to be supplied from the power source 20 to a coil 30 of a motor. The switching circuit 40 includes a plus-side switch 60 for supplying a plus-side current to the coil 30 of the motor and a minus-side switch 70 for supplying a minus-side current thereto. When supplying the plus-side current, only the plus-side switch 60 is independently turned on while turning off the minus-side switch 70 at all the time. When supplying the minus-side current, only the minus-side switch 70 is independently turned on while turning off the plus-side switch 60 at all the time. 【課題】スイッチング回路の周波数を大きく設定することにより位置決め精度を向上させることができるモータ駆動装置を提供することを目的とする。【解決手段】電源２０と、該電源２０からモータのコイル３０に供給される電流を制御するスイッチング回路４０と、を有するモータ駆動装置１０であって、スイッチング回路４０は、モータのコイル３０にプラス側の電流を供給するプラス側のスイッチ６０とマイナス側の電流を供給するマイナス側のスイッチ７０を有し、プラス側の電流を供給するときは、マイナス側のスイッチ７０を常時オフ状態としつつプラス側のスイッチ６０のみオン動作を独立して行い、マイナス側の電流を供給するときは、プラス側のスイッチ６０を常時オフ状態としつつマイナス側のスイッチ７０のみオン動作を独立して行う。【選択図】 図２
