HAND GESTURE TRACKING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose the estimation method of the finger position/shape using a binary template image based on the outline of the finger and its internal information.SOLUTION: A hand gesture tracking system includes: a camera 1 for photographing a moving image; and an image tracking part 2 for estimating a change in the finger position/shape between continuous photographic images photographed by the camera 1. The image tracking part 2 includes: an ROI(Region of Interest) setting part 21 for setting a rectangular area (ROI) for local search within an arbitrary range with the position of a tracking object estimated in the previous frame as a center; an outline extraction part 22 for extracting the outline image of the finger by using a spatial filter to the ROI; and a template matching part 23 for determining a matching position by raster-scanning the inside of the ROI. 【課題】手指の輪郭とその内部情報に基く二値テンプレート画像を用いた手指位置・形状の推定方法を提案する。【解決手段】動画像を撮影するカメラ１と、カメラ１で撮影した連続する撮影画像間での手指位置・形状の変化を推定する画像追跡部２で構成し、画像追跡部２は、前のフレームで推定した追跡対象の位置を中心に任意の範囲で局所探索のための矩形領域（ＲＯＩ：Region of Interest）を設定するＲＯＩ設定部２１と、ＲＯＩに対して空間フィルタを用いて手指の輪郭画像を抽出する輪郭抽出部２２と、ＲＯＩ内をラスタスキャンしてマッチング位置を求めるテンプレートマッチング部２３で構成する。【選択図】 図１
