Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery arranged to be able to deliver an excellent preservation characteristic even if the battery has a negative electrode active material which expands and shrinks as lithium is occluded and released.SOLUTION: A negative electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery comprises: a current collector main body; a coat layer arranged on the surface of the current collector main body; and a negative electrode active material layer arranged on the surface of the coat layer and including a negative electrode active material. The coat layer includes a coat layer binder, and a conductive material. Supposing that the whole coat layer is 100 mass%, the content of the coat layer binder is from more than 40 mass% up to 99 mass%. The negative electrode active material includes at least one kind of material selected from a group consisting of silicon, a silicon compound, tin and a tin compound. 【課題】 Liの吸蔵及び放出に伴って膨張、収縮するような負極活物質を有しても、優れた保存特性を発揮するリチウムイオン二次電池を提供する。【解決手段】 集電体本体と、集電体本体の表面に配置されるコート層と、コート層の表面に配置され、負極活物質を含む負極活物質層と、を有し、コート層はコート層用バインダーと導電性材料とを含み、コート層の全体を100質量%としたときに、コート層用バインダーの含有量は40質量%より多く99質量%以下であり、負極活物質はSi、Si化合物、Sn及びSn化合物の群から選択される少なくとも一つを含むことを特徴とする。【選択図】 図1
