PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic measurement apparatus capable of improving operability and convenience of a user by notifying the user of a proper measurement state with sound, and to provide a control method for the ultrasonic measurement apparatus.SOLUTION: An ultrasonic measurement apparatus includes: an ultrasonic transducer device 20 transmitting an ultrasonic beam while performing scanning along a scanning plane, and receiving an ultrasonic echo by the ultrasonic beam; a processing part 120 performing processing on the basis of a reception signal from the ultrasonic transducer device 20; and a sound output part 130 outputting sound.
