OPTICAL FIBER CABLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable which can be easily taken out from inside without damaging an optical fiber.SOLUTION: An optical fiber cable includes: an optical fiber; a pair of tensile strength bodies 41a, 41b placed across the optical fiber; a pair of coating layers 12a, 12b for coating the pair of tensile strength bodies 41a, 41b; and a sheath 13 for coating the optical fiber and the pair of coating layers 12a, 12b overall. At a position between flat surfaces S1, S2 including apices 14a, 14b, 15a, 15b of the pair of coating layers 12a, 12b, the optical fiber is placed. Around the optical fiber, the sheath 13 is separated. The sheath 13 is not fused with or bonded to the pair of coating layers 12a, 12b from the apices 14a, 14b, 15a, 15b of the pair of coating layers 12a, 12b over to a side surface on the optical fiber side but is fused with or bonded on a remoter side from the optical fiber than the apices 14a, 14b, 15a, 15b of the pair of coating layers 12a, 12b. 【課題】光ファイバを損傷させることなく内部から容易に取り出すことができる光ファイバケーブルを提供する。【解決手段】光ファイバと、光ファイバを挟んで配置された一対の抗張力体４１ａ，４１ｂと、一対の抗張力体４１ａ，４１ｂを被覆する一対の被覆層１２ａ，１２ｂと、光ファイバ及び一対の被覆層１２ａ，１２ｂを一括被覆する外被１３とを備え、一対の被覆層１２ａ，１２ｂの頂部１４ａ，１４ｂ，１５ａ，１５ｂ同士を含む平面Ｓ１，Ｓ２に挟まれる位置に光ファイバが配置され、光ファイバの周囲においては外被１３が分断されており、外被１３は、一対の被覆層１２ａ，１２ｂの頂部１４ａ，１４ｂ，１５ａ，１５ｂから光ファイバ側の側面にわたって一対の被覆層１２ａ，１２ｂと融着又は接着されておらず、且つ一対の被覆層１２ａ，１２ｂの頂部１４ａ，１４ｂ，１５ａ，１５ｂよりも光ファイバから遠い側において融着又は接着されている。【選択図】図１
