Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a manufacturing error generated when manufacturing a diffraction structure for achieving compatible reproduction of an optical disk.SOLUTION: A step-like cross section as a diffraction structure for achieving compatible reproduction of an optical disk is a diffraction structure which has a step-like cross section of M level of (M-1) steps in one period, defining M is a natural number. Defining flat width in each level from lower step to higher step in order as W1, W2, ... W(N-1), WN, W1 and WN are set to be narrower than W2-W(N-1). With this arrangement, manufacturing error is eliminated and high diffraction efficiency is ensured. 【課題】光ディスクの互換再生を実現するための回折構造を作製する際に発生する作成上の誤差への対処法を示すこと。【解決手段】光ディスクの互換再生を実現するための回折構造である階段断面形状は、Mを自然数として、一周期が(M-1)段Mレベルの階段状断面形状の回折構造であり、各レベルの平坦幅を高さの低い方から高い方へ順にW1、W2、・・・W(N-1)、WNとしたときに、W1とWNをW2〜W(N-1)よりも狭くすることを特徴とし、本構成によって、加工上の誤差に対しても回折効率の低下を抑え、高い回折効率を得ることができる。【選択図】図8
