Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a magnetic recording medium which allows low friction coefficient of a lubricant layer and high coverage of a protective layer by the lubricant layer.SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of a magnetic recording medium comprises forming, on a laminated body, a magnetic recording layer, a protective layer and a lubricant layer in this order. The formation of the lubricant layer includes: applying a first lubricant onto the laminated body by a vapor-phase lubrication deposition method without bringing the laminated body after the formation of the protective layer into contact with the atmosphere; and after the application of the first lubricant, applying a second lubricant onto the laminated body without bringing the laminated body into contact with the atmosphere by the vapor-phase lubrication deposition method. The molecular weight of the first lubricant is different from that of the second lubricant, and the polarity of the first lubricant is different from that of the second lubricant.
【課題】磁気記録媒体の製造方法において、潤滑層の摩擦係数を低く、且つ、潤滑層による保護層の表面の被覆率を高くすることを目的とする。【解決手段】被積層体上に、磁気記録層、保護層、潤滑層をこの順で形成する磁気記録媒体の製造方法において、潤滑層の形成は、保護層を形成後の被積層体を大気に触れさせることなくベーパールブ成膜方法を用いて第1の潤滑剤を被積層体に塗布し、第1の潤滑剤を塗布後、被積層体を大気に触れさせることなくベーパールブ成膜方法を用いて第2の潤滑剤を被積層体に塗布し、第1の潤滑剤の分子量は第2の潤滑剤の分子量と異なり、第1の潤滑剤の極性は第2の潤滑剤の極性と異なる。【選択図】図1 |
