GROUND PACKING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ground packing capable of facilitating handling, improving a sealing property, and preventing the coming off and the like of a braided packing.SOLUTION: A ground packing is equipped with: a first packing 11 formed by expanded graphite; and an annular second packing 12 provided at an axial end portion of the first packing 11, and formed by braiding fiber material. At an inner peripheral edge of the axial end portion of the first packing 11, a recessed portion 13 is formed. An outer diameter of the second packing 12 is formed to be smaller than an outer diameter of the first packing 11, and an outer peripheral surface 12a of the second packing 12 is fitted with an inner peripheral surface 13b of the recessed portion 13, thereby being integrally fixed to the first packing 11. The second packing 12 fitted with the recessed portion 13 has an inner diameter larger than that of the first packing 11 in a non-use state in which the ground packing 10 is not compressed in an axial direction, and the inner diameter is contracted so as to contact with an inner sealed surface 33a with the first packing 11 in a use state in which the ground packing 10 is compressed in the axial direction. 【課題】取り扱いが容易でシール性を高めることができ、編組パッキンの脱落等を防止することが可能なグランドパッキンを提供する。【解決手段】膨張黒鉛によって形成された第１パッキン１１と、第１パッキン１１の軸方向端部に設けられ、繊維材の編組により形成された環状の第２パッキン１２とを備え、第１パッキン１１の軸方向端部の内周縁には凹部１３が形成され、第２パッキン１２は、その外径が第１パッキン１１の外径よりも小さく形成され、その外周面１２ａが凹部１３の内周面１３ｂに嵌合されることによって第１パッキン１１に一体的に固定され、凹部１３に嵌合された第２パッキン１２は、グランドパッキン１０を軸方向に圧縮していない不使用状態で第１パッキン１１よりも内径が大きく、グランドパッキン１０を軸方向に圧縮した使用状態で、第１パッキン１１とともに内側被シール面３３ａに接触するように内径が縮小する。【選択図】図１
