Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a honeycomb structure, in which 'a nest' is prevented from being formed in an adhesive material layer so that the honeycomb structure having high adhesive strength can be produced.SOLUTION: The method for producing the honeycomb structure comprises the steps of: preparing a honeycomb fired body which has end faces each including cell partition walls for dividing/forming a plurality of cells becoming flow passages of a fluid and has joint surfaces or side faces being the outer periphery of a honeycomb assembly; arranging the adhesive material layer comprising adhesive material paste containing an inorganic particle and an inorganic fiber in the space between the adjacent side faces; and drying the honeycomb assembly obtained by binding a plurality of adjacent honeycomb fired bodies to each other while interposing the adhesive material layer therebetween to prepare a ceramic block. At the step of drying the honeycomb assembly, the honeycomb assembly is dried in such a state that the adhesive material layers on the side faces of the honeycomb assembly and those on the end faces thereof are covered with moisture-impermeable members 23, 24 having openings 24b arranged correspondingly to the end face of the honeycomb fired body. 【課題】接着材層に「巣」が生じることを防止し、高い接着強度を有するハニカム構造体を製造することができるハニカム構造体の製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】流体の流路となる複数のセルを区画形成するセル隔壁を備えた端面と、接合面又はハニカム集合体の外周をなす側面とを有するハニカム焼成体を作製し、上記側面間に、無機粒子及び無機繊維を含む接着材ペースト材料からなる接着材層を設けて、上記複数のハニカム焼成体を上記接着材層を介して結束した上記ハニカム集合体を乾燥してセラミックブロックを作製する乾燥工程とを含むハニカム構造体の製造方法であって、上記乾燥工程において、上記ハニカム焼成体の端面に対応する開口部24bが設けられていて、上記ハニカム集合体の側面の接着材層及び上記ハニカム集合体の端面の接着材層を非透湿部材23,24で覆った状態で乾燥を行うことを特徴とするハニカム構造体の製造方法。【選択図】図4
