Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector device which offers effectively prolonged product life.SOLUTION: A projector includes; laser light sources 103-105, each of which generates light of a different color; a control unit which controls intensity of the light generated by each laser light source 103-105; a display control unit 110 which projects images on a combiner 60 by guiding the light generated by the laser light sources 103-105 to the combiner 60; and a prediction unit which predicts a shortest living light source having the shortest operating life left of all the laser light sources 103-105. The control unit adjusts intensity of light generated by the shortest living light source to a level lower than a predetermined normal intensity level. 【課題】効率的に製品寿命を延ばすことのできるプロジェクタ装置を提供する。【解決手段】互いに異なる色成分の光を出力するレーザ光源103〜105と、レーザ光源103〜105がそれぞれ出力する光の光量を制御する制御部と、レーザ光源103〜105がそれぞれ出力する光をコンバイナ60に導くことにより、コンバイナ60に画像を投影する表示制御部110と、レーザ光源103〜105のうち、残り寿命が最短のレーザ光源である最短寿命光源部を予測する予測部とを備え、制御部は、最短寿命光源部が出力する光の光量を、予め定められた通常状態の光量よりも少なくなるように制御する。【選択図】図3
