PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image processing apparatus attaining an upgrading an automatic segmenting algorithm for reducing misidentification of tubes and bones: and to provide a medical image processing method.SOLUTION: A medical image processing apparatus includes: an image data processing unit for subtracting a mask region corresponding to a segmented first object from image data on the first object and a second object to acquire a segmentation image regarding the second object on at least part of which a defect occurs; a designation unit for designating at least one point in at least either of a defected region where the second object is defected or a region in the vicinity of the defected region; and an image processing unit for restoring the second object in the defected region using the position of at least one designated point.
