Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for extracting organic acid with simple means and high extraction efficiency.SOLUTION: A method for producing an organic acid comprises (1) a step of producing organic acid by fermentation to obtain a crude solution of organic acid of which pH is 1-5; and (2) a step of extracting the organic acid from the crude organic acid solution obtained in the step (1), wherein the step (2) further comprises the steps of: (i) extracting the organic acid from the crude extract obtained in the step (1) using an organic extraction medium to obtain an extract (i); (ii) extracting the organic acid from the extract (i) using water to obtain an extract (ii) and carrying out at least one coalescence process using a coalescer.
