PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic component that allows preventing acoustic noise while obtaining the degree of freedom of circuit design, and to provide a selection method.SOLUTION: A laminated body 11 includes a stack of a plurality of ceramic layers 17, and has a top surface and a bottom surface located on both ends in a z-axis direction, end surfaces facing each other, and side surfaces facing each other. Capacitor conductors 30 and 32 are stacked with the ceramic layers 17, and faces each other via the ceramic layers 17. The distance between the end surface S3 and the end surface S4 is longer than the distance between the side surface S5 and the side surface S6. A first external electrode and a second external electrode are provided on one end surface and one side surface, respectively, and are connected to the capacitor conductor 30. A third external electrode and a fourth external electrode are provided on the other end surface and the other side surface, respectively, and are connected to the capacitor conductor 32.
