PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel battery having a sealing plate used therein and arranged so that the slimming of an electrolytic film is prevented.SOLUTION: A fuel battery comprises: a cathode-side diffusion layer; and a sealing plate which is disposed over an end portion of the cathode-side diffusion layer between a cathode-side separator and the cathode-side diffusion layer, and which ensures a communication flow path for allowing an oxidant gas internal flow path to communicate to an oxidant gas manifold. The fuel battery has a reactive gas inflow suppression part for suppressing the inflow of at least one of an oxidant gas and a fuel gas into a part of a cathode-side catalyst layer overlapping, along a stacking direction, with a particular part of an end portion of the cathode-side diffusion layer which is a part impregnated with no seal material and located outwardly from an inner edge of the sealing plate.
