PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy of authenticity identification in a paper sheet identification device for identifying paper sheets.SOLUTION: The paper sheet identification device performs: acquisition processing of causing respective optical sensors to acquire sample information rows each comprising a plurality of sample information items of paper sheets subject to identification, while causing conveyance means to convey the paper sheets; integration processing of rearranging the positions of the sample information items between the sample information rows acquired by the respective optical sensors to form an integrated sample information row where a plurality of sample information rows are integrated; and determination processing of determining the authenticity of the paper sheets subject to the identification on the basis of frequency transformation information obtained by heterodyning the integrated sample information.
