PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can suppress a reduction in uniformity of color characteristics and unevenness in glossiness of toner occurring during fixation.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes color image forming means for forming color images by using chromatic toner, transparent image forming means for forming transparent images on the color images by using transparent toner, and fixing means. The transparent toner and chromatic toner contain a mold release agent and a binder resin, respectively. The binder resin includes a crystalline polyester resin, and an amorphous resin; and when a height of a maximum rising peak point in an infrared absorption spectrum of the crystalline polyester resin obtained by infrared spectroscopy using a Fourier transform infrared spectral analyzer is W, a height of a maximum rising peak point in an infrared absorption spectrum of the amorphous resin is R, W/R of the chromatic toner is X1, and W/R of the transparent toner is X2, the following formulas 1 and 2 are both satisfied. Formula 1: 0≤X2-X1≤0.75; formula 2: 0.05≤X2≤0.80.
