Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker capable of efficiently heating the side surface of an inner pot without enlarging the outer shape of a body.SOLUTION: A rice cooker includes: an upper side surface heater 11 and a lower side surface heater 12 for heating the side surface of an inner pot 3; a strain sensor 9 for detecting the weight of the rice cooker; and a control circuit 24 for heating the inner pot 3 by energizing the upper side surface heater 11 and the lower side surface heater 12. The control circuit 24 determines the total weight of the rice cooker at present on the basis of a signal from the strain sensor 9, subtracts a predetermined reference weight from the determined total weight, and calculates the weight of a cooked object inside the inner pot 3. The control circuit 24 determines the amount of cooked rice inside the inner pot 3 on the basis of the acquired weight, and energizes the upper side surface heater 11 and the lower side surface heater 12 or the lower side surface heater 12 in accordance with the determined amount of cooked rice.
