PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an outer appearance of an optical assembly.SOLUTION: An optical assembly comprises: an optical member; and a holding member holding the optical member. The optical member has: a pair of optical surfaces that includes an incident surface making a flux of light incident and an emitting surface making the flux of light emitted; and an off-set surface that is provided at an outer periphery of the pair of optical surfaces, and offsets with respect to an optical axis direction of the optical member from the incident surface. The holding member has: a frame part that is provided along an outer periphery of the off-set surface of the optical member; an abutting surface that extends from the frame part in a direction crossing an optical axis direction of the optical member, and abuts against the off-set surface; and a caulking part that extends in the optical axis direction from the frame part, is caulked toward the optical member and presses the optical member against the abutting surface.
