PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor and a method for manufacturing the photoreceptor which suppresses image degradation due to ghost development in various environments, and to provide a process cartridge and an electrophotographic device having the electrophotographic photoreceptor.SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor includes a support, an undercoat layer containing metal oxide particles formed on the support, a charge generating layer formed on the undercoat layer, and a charge transporting layer formed on the charge generating layer. One of or both of the undercoat layer and the charge generating layer include a compound expressed by formula (1).
