PROJECTOR TYPE HEADLIGHT AND PROJECTION LENS FOR PROJECTOR TYPE HEADLIGHT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector type headlight capable of suppressing luminous intensity unevenness appearing in a belt-like light distribution pattern extending to a substantially constant width nearby above a cutoff line along the cutoff line.SOLUTION: A projector type headlight 10 includes a projection lens 14 which is arranged on an optical axis extending in vehicle front/rear directions, a reflecting surface 12a which is arranged behind the projection lens 14, a light source 16 which is arranged behind a rear-side focus of the projection lens 14, and a light shield member 18 which is arranged between the projection lens 14 and light source 16, and cuts off light, traveling upward, of light transmitted through the projection lens 14 to irradiate the front, and is so configured as to form a light distribution pattern including a cutoff line defined by the light shield member 18. At least a part of a surface of the projection lens 14 includes a plurality of concave lens cut surfaces which have perpendicular sectional shapes which are straight lines in contact with a projection reference surface of the surface of the projection lens 14 at both ends and extend in a substantially horizontal direction, and are concave to the projection reference surface.
