PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment for enabling a user to allow electronic equipment to execute a predetermined operation without moving the finger in the normal direction of a touch panel.SOLUTION: A power supply button 1210 is composed of a conductive member, and configured to be movable along the surface of a touch panel 1092 between a first position and a second position where the switch is turned on. A push button switch 120 is arranged such that when the power supply button 1210 moves to the second position on the basis of a user operation, the capacitance of an area 922 changes by a threshold or more. A portable terminal 1 as electronic equipment detects an amount of change of the capacitance of the area 922. The portable terminal 1 executes the start of an operating system as predetermined processing under such conditions that a switch 1220 is turned on in accordance with a user operation to the power supply button 1210, and that the amount of change of the capacitance of the area 922 since the user operation starts is equal to or more than a threshold.
