DIVISION TYPE MECHANICAL SEAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve sealability of a division surface, in a division type mechanical seal in which a stationary seal ring or a rotation seal ring is divided in a circumferential direction.SOLUTION: A stationary seal ring 10 or a rotation seal ring is divided in a circumferential direction, and respective division surfaces 25 comprise an outer peripheral side inclination surface 25a inclined in a constant direction toward an inner peripheral side from an outer peripheral part when viewed from a direction orthogonal to the axial direction of a rotation shaft 4, and an inner peripheral side inclination surface 25b inclined on the same side as the side of inclination of the outer peripheral side inclination surface 25a toward an outer peripheral side from an inner peripheral part. The outer peripheral side inclination surface 25a and the inner peripheral side inclination surface 25b are set so as to intersect with each other between the outer peripheral part and the inner peripheral part.
