PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveyance and film production device that uses a Nelson roll and that can form a non-film-production area stably at both width-directional end parts of a base material even when a base parallel run part formed by the Nelson roll is uneven in pitch.SOLUTION: There is provided a conveyance and film production device that continuously conveys a base material as a thin-plate long-sized body from a sending-out reel part to a take-up reel part, and performs a predetermined treatment on the base material being conveyed in a chamber so as to form a thin film on a surface of the base material. A Nelson roll having two rotatable rolls arranged opposite each other is provided in the chamber, outer peripheral surfaces of the two rolls of the Nelson roll are wound with the base material a plurality of times axially at a predetermined interval so as to form a base material parallel run part where a plurality of base materials are arranged in a plurality of arrays, and both width-directional ends of the base material at the base material parallel run part are covered with mutually independent mask tapes so as to form a thin film while forming non-film-production areas on the base material.
