STEERING COLUMN DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain vibration of an operation lever in telescopic operation after releasing a lock, and to also maintain energizing force in the lock direction of the operation lever constant, in a steering column device.SOLUTION: The steering column device comprises a lock mechanism 24 for pressure-welding a movable side plate 36 of an outer jacket 12 (a tilt member TM) displaced in the til direction Y around a til support shaft 18 when adjusting a tilt, to a fixed side plate 20 fixed to a vehicle body side member 22. An energizing member 34 is provided for energizing the operation lever 26 of the lock mechanism 24 in the lock direction R1 around the central axis C1 of a lock shaft 25 when releasing at least the lock. A first end part 341 of the energizing member 34 engages with a projection part 32 (the tilt member TM), and a second end part 342 engages with the operation lever 26.
