Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of solving the problem of warp unevenness which becomes apparent in a large-sized (for example, 32 inches or more) liquid crystal display device having a thin glass substrate constituting a liquid crystal cell (for example, the glass substrate has a thickness of 0.5 mm or less) and is based on warpage of a panel occurring when the liquid crystal display device is turned on after preserved in a high-humidity environment.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device is configured to include: a liquid crystal cell having a liquid crystal layer provided between two glass substrates; polarizing plates provided on both sides of the liquid crystal cell; and a backlight provided on the rear side (non-viewing side) of the liquid crystal cell. In the polarizing plate provided on the front side (viewing side), a difference between a moisture content at 25°C and a relative humidity of 60% and a moisture content which is acquired immediately after the polarizing plate is left for 24 hours under a condition (A) of an environment at 40°C and a relative humidity of 95%, is 0.01% or more and 4.0% or less.
