Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compositions and methods for minimally invasive systemic delivery of proteins including TGF- -superfamily members.SOLUTION: The invention is directed to methods and compositions for systemic delivery of minimally soluble bioactive agents such as, but not limited to, TGF- -superfamily proteins. According to the invention, an exemplary bioactive agent is BMP-7. The invention also provides minimally invasive systemic treatment of skeletal disorders such as osteoporosis. The invention also provides minimally invasive systemic treatment of damaged or diseased non-calcified tissues and organs such as kidneys. Practice of the invention eliminates adverse side effects at the sites of intravenous administration of the bioactive agent.
